After our experience at Tre Cime, we were determined to get a parking space at Passo Tre Croce, and left Corvara by car at 5 o'clock in the morning. We arrived at Passo Tre Croce at 6-30 a.m., and along the stretch of road between the Tre Croce Hotel and the start of the Lake Sorapis walk there were only two spaces left.We parked up and walked up to the hotel for some breakfast, but had to make do with coffee from a machine.

Our early morning start paid off, and we had a pleasant walk up to Rifugio Vandelli and Lake Sorapis with very few people around. Coming back down was a different matter. There were swarms of people in goups of twenty; as it was a single path in places this meant waiting each time for groups to come by. We were back down by 12-30, and there were still streams of people just starting the hike up.

Path washed away in places, but not too difficult to get by

Although there were cables to help you, in places they were too short!

Hoards coming up the trail as we returned to Tre Croce. Quite difficult passing on the narrow path.
